With the Chancellor announcing a 2.5% cut in VAT as from 1st December 2008, we ask our Cameo customers to please observe the following announcement regarding management of this change within our Cameo core software.
Firstly, through the course of this week, our Support Team are already in the process of systematically updating every customers system to ensure that the VAT change is accommodated.
I would request that at this point there is no need for you to contact our support directly. The increased volume in calls is unfortunately only serving to slow down this process.
Cameo Sales Ledger Users
For those customers operating Cameo Sales Ledger and not our Purchase Ledger then the process of resetting the VAT rate to 15% will be relatively straightforward. Our Helpline is in the process of upgrading parameter files within your Cameo software and you will subsequently be instructed as to how to check that the VAT rates have been reset within your Sales Ledger at start of trading on 1st December.
Please Note: Following this instruction, it will be the customers responsibility to ensure that the change has taken effect from start of trading on the morning of 1st December.
Cameo Sales and Purchase Ledger Users
For those customers running Sales and Purchase Ledger our Cameo software has now been upgraded to facilitate separate VAT rates across both Sales and Purchase Ledger functions.
Our helpline is currently in the process of implementing software and utility upgrades over the next few days and we will subsequently release instruction so as you can check the changes to the Sales Ledger have taken effect and instigate changes to the Purchase Ledger at point of cut off.
CamGL Users
The functionality for the creation of additional VAT codes is already in place in CamGL. Again, our support team will advise specific customers who operate an integrated CamGL / Cameo package prior to the end of this week.
